   At Car and Driver, the Telluride has a 10 out of 10 and the #1 ranking in the class. It is on the 10Best list and is an Editors’ Choice. The 2024 Hyundai Palisade has a good rating of 9.5, but it is rated #9 in the class.

   Kelley Blue Book has named the 2024 Telluride as #1 and the 2024 Hyundai Palisade as #4 of the best mid-size SUVs. While the 2024 Palisade is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, the 2024 Telluride got the higher rank of Top Safety Pick Plus. They both have 5 stars in federal crash ratings.

2. Value and Ownership Costs

   From the initial MSRP to overall trim ladder pricing, the Telluride manages to save money over the Palisade. US News named the Kia as the 2024 Best 3-row SUV for the Money.

    Kelley Blue Book has named it Best Buy in 2024. In fact, it won that award in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Telluride prices start lower than the Palisade prices and maintain that advantage throughout the trim levels.

3. Size and Spaciousness

   The 2024 Kia Telluride maintains a slight size advantage over the Palisade. This is due to its larger standard cargo hold. Plus Telluride seats are placed like stadium seating with the second and third rows slightly higher than the row immediately ahead of them.

   Legroom for both SUVs is estimated at 44.1 inches up front, 42.4 on the second row, and a worthy 31.4 inches on the third row. These are great numbers for adults or teens who might take the available 2nd-row captain’s chairs. Even the third row is more spacious than the majority of 3 row SUVs.  

   However, at 21 cubic feet, the Telluride hold is significantly bigger than the 18-cu ft hold in the Palisade. The two are more similar when it comes to the space behind the second row with the two claiming about 46 cubic feet. Likewise, they claim a similar 87 cubes behind the first row.
