What’s New for 2025?
The new look of the K5 includes the standard amber positioning lights. Adding curb appeal, these Star Map LED DRLs made their debut for 2024. For 2025, every K5 now has these clever eyebrow-like lights over the standard LED highlights.
Unique 18-inch wheel designs dress up the popular GT-Line and EX trim levels. GT models are updated with rear triangular fins. All models now have the unique taillights that stretch across the deck lid, turning down at the corners.
There are even more changes inside the cabin, under the hood, and in the advanced technologies that seek to keep the sedan out of harm’s way. Keep scrolling to find out what else is new this model year.
Performance
The 2025 Kia K5 has a new engine. While the 2024 model had an efficient 180-horsepower engine, the 2025 engine generates 191 horsepower. More horses under the hood should give the driver extra confidence..
If you want all-wheel drive, you can choose the option with the 2025 Kia K5 GT-Line sedan. It gives you all-weather capability. A 2.5-liter turbocharged engine is definitely a driving enthusiast favorite. This Kia K5 GT generates 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.

Utility
Providing you with full size space in a midsize ride, the trunk offers a generous 15.6 cu ft of cargo space. Split-fold second-row seats provide further flexibility if required.
The Kia K5 offers convenient features such as Smart Key and Smart Trunk, allowing for effortless access. With a simple button push, drivers can unlock doors, open the trunk, and start the car without the need to remove the key from their pocket or purse. These smart technologies enhance ease of use and streamline daily interactions with the vehicle.
These new Kia sedans offer cool-but-practical features like illuminated door handles. You won’t find that on a Toyota Camry or Hyundai Sonata.
Automatic headlights react to lighting conditions, turning on the nighttime lights at the right moment. Automatic high beam assist further contributes to a hassle-free night driving experience.
Interior
Every new Kia K5 provides an extremely spacious cabin with 105 cu ft of passenger space. These well-appointed interiors are made more comfortable for passengers by providing standards like an acoustic windshield to keep things quiet.
This midsize sedan seems made for Phoenix AZ summers thanks to its standard dual-zone automatic climate controls and solar windows.
A remote start system makes it possible to cool the sedan before a summer outing. EX models increase the cool with rear air conditioning vents. Plus they have ventilated front seats.
Throughout the lineup, quality materials, distinctive colors and soft textures enrich the quality fit and finish. SynTex may be rendered in black, red, or Ash blue. It may be combined with a black cloth for variety and visual interest. Accents range from satin chrome trim to wood graphics to LED lighting. Other options include Chestnut Brown or racy red stitching.
2025 GT-Line and higher trims add a 10-way power chair and more dash tech to the cockpit. Sporty details include a D-shaped steering wheel and special front-seat bolstering. A panoramic sunroof can really open up the cabin in the 2025 K5 GT models.
Technology
Inside the cockpit, convenience takes center stage, with audio controls duplicated on the tilt-telescopic steering wheel. The driver’s display is now partnered with two new screens. The first is a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Audio.
The other new display is positioned below the infotainment touchscreen. To control the air conditioning or the audio volume, the driver uses knobs on either side of the small display.
Other changes include an improved central console and larger cupholders. There’s a revised charging pad and new USB-C charging ports.
The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit can be upgraded with over-the-air updates. EX models add a panoramic 12.3-inch driver display. A 12-speaker Bose-designed audio system elevates the auditory experience, providing immersive sound quality.

Safety
One of the most noteworthy attributes of the K5 sedan lies in its comprehensive array of advanced driver assist features available across all models. This evolving roster of technologies continues to advance, enhancing their efficacy and utility.
For instance, the forward collision avoidance assist harmonizes with an emergency autobrake, pedestrian detection, and lane-following assist. The inclusion of lane-keeping assist and blind-spot collision avoidance assist further empowers drivers to navigate their journeys with heightened safety.
In the quest to mitigate parking-related incidents, the K5 is equipped with a rearview camera system and rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist. New for 2025, it also has forward and rear parking sensors.
Acknowledging the perils of distracted driving, the K5 has a driver attention warning and a Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. Additionally, adaptive cruise control steps in to alleviate the stresses of daily commuting.
On the EX trim level, Highway Driving Assist takes a more proactive role during extensive highway travel. Navigation adds curve control capability to the adaptive cruise system.
