The 2025 Kia Sportage has a smart engine that’s controlled by a clever 8-speed automatic transmission. Output is 187 horsepower. The AWD model has a tow rating of 3,500 pounds.

Ground clearance is 7.1 inches for front-wheel drive or 8.3 inches for all-wheel drive. These HTRAC models have all-weather capability. Plus they have Downhill Brake Control to help protect the transmission. Sportage X-Pro and X-Line models are ready for off-road adventures.

If you want incredible fuel economy, the 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid (HEV) can earn 42 mpg city and 44 mpg highway.  Output is a generous 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. AWD models can earn 38 mpg combined. These hybrids can go up to 500 miles before a fill-up. 

At the top of the heap, the 2025 Kia Sportage PHEV (Plug in Hybrid) is an especially smart ride. There’s an electric range of 30 miles. Fuel efficiency is rated at 84 mpg-equivalent.  Output is 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft.

At its largest, this Kia SUV offers 74.1 cubic feet of open space for gear.

Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrids are slightly smaller inside. However, these PHEV models still have 34.5 cubic feet in the cargo hold. The PHEV second row has a generous 39.4 inches of legroom, making it suitable for tall adults and long-legged teens.

The 2025 Sportage offers LX, EX., SX, X-Pro, and SX Prestige with the standard powertrain. Hybrids are offered in LX, EX and SX Prestige. 2025 Kia Sportage Plug in Hybrids come in EX or SX Prestige trim levels.
